Growing
Three Umbrellas
This is a little house just before the entrsnc of The Arb. i mainly chose this house because of the vines growing on the side of it. I've always wanted vines to grow on the side of my house and I love greenery. "Three Umbrellas was the first picture I took of this building and I wanted to get the sky in it and the entire building so I shot it in portrait orientation, but I like the landscape orientation way better.
Smart House
This house reminded me of "Smart House" from that Disney channel original movie. This is another house from deep inside the Arb. When I told my brother that I needed to take architecture photos this is the first one he thought of. What's really funny is that if you look closely in one of the windows you can see a McD's large cup which is interesting because I wouldnt assume someone living in this kind of house would eat at McD's. It was a little bit difficult to get the trees and bushes in front of the house to work with it instead of just covering it up.
Twin Towers
I usually don't like hospitals but as soon as I saw the sky behind this building I knew it would make for great picures. Some people dont like clouds in the sky but they add so much more to just a plain blue sky. At this point in my photo taking, because I took both lanscape and architecture pictures in one day, my brother was hangry and needed to go home so ended up taking the las picture in the car while we were driving away from the hospital. Despite being in a moving car I feel as though i got some pretty good shots. I really dig the metal columns in the in the center of the rounded part of the building.
Random sculpture
horse
This is a sculpture that I came across while walking through the Arb. Two guys were playing frisbee in front of it and I -- actually it was my brother-- had to ask them to move from in front of it so I could take pictures of it. I really like how abstract it is and can be seen as many different things or nothing at all. I also like that it made from both metal and wood. Also the fact that just viewing it from different angles can change your perception of this sculpture is really cool.
Books and Sunsets
Finally this is the library down the street from my house. Since there is construction behind the building I tried to keep it put of the picture but to avail because there it is in the refection of the glass. I really just like this building because its an abnormal shape with different shape and sized windows.
